VDHS Presentation Day - Long Gully
Well the season has come to an end. But not before the VDHS threw 1 last party. Those that camped out over night were shown a good time with the soothing vocals of one Shane Currie.
Sunday morning proved to have some incredible mist rolling through the trees at the top of the track which made for some nice photos. The pump track and dual slalom tracks were very popular showing there is a definiant need for this type of racing in Vic.

VDHS Round 5 - You Yangs
Congratulations goes out to the You Yangs MTB Inc for putting together a really well run race. A new super fun track was built for this very race elevating the You Yangs to Australia's Premiere MTB Park.
Super fun vibe and a decent turn out created a great scene and a fun weekend.

VDHS Round 4 - Big Hill
Wet, muddy and cold. It's not the first time we've had these conditions this season, but throw a 8 - 15 minute run in the mix and you have something very unique.....Big Hill

VDHS Round 4 - Mt Taylor
I understand it's the first time Mt Taylor has been raced, and hopefully not the last, as this is one awesome venue. I was really encouraging to see DSE getting behind MTB in Gippsland and putting money toward fixing up the race track to a VDHS series standard. For those that didn't make it to Mt Taylor.....you missed out!!!

VDHS State Champs - Mt Baw Baw
Think for a moment of the movie Gorillas in the Mist. Some might say 320 grumpy cold riders look a little like Gorillas, some might not But it was a sight to see. Anyone wanting a lesson on how to ride a downhill bike in the wet need not look very far, Kona riders Josh Button and Ben Barrett showed every one how to do it. Leonie "Rabbit" Picton also showed the boys that the girls too can ride!!!!.

VDHS Round 3 - Mt Beauty SC
A perfect weekend for racing. After a little rain on Friday, the track was super tacky Saturday morning. That soon changed Saturday afternoon with corners, berms and even straights looking nothing like what we rode in the morning. Still, the track was super fun and well worth the trip up from Melbourne to ride. Those that didn't missed out.
A record with 307 riders and and the best river to soak the dirt away at the end of the day.

VDHS Round 2 - Yackandandah
Round 2 saw us back to the infamous Yackandandah track. It was a baptism of fire to the newer riders that hadn't had a chance to ride Yack before. And some of those paid the price in skin, blood and bone.
It wasn't enough that the track had it's challenges! Through in heat, dust and 300 riders and you get carnage.

VDHS Round 1 - You Yangs
Opening weekend of the Victoria Downhill Series saw 300 riders coming from all over Victoria and Interstate to ride the Youies.
Trying conditions saw to it riders were challeged and some stood victorious!
